Zalos Browser Extension

The Zalos Chrome extension connects your browser to Zalos Desktop so your assistant can read pages and perform browser tasks you request.

Requirements

You need a compatible Zalos Desktop installation, Chrome 116 or later, and an invited Zalos account. Initial packaged Desktop support for this extension is on Apple silicon Macs. Windows native browser pairing is not currently available.

Download Zalos Desktop for Apple silicon Mac (0.1.0-beta.13). This installer is signed and has passed Apple notarization.

For account setup assistance, contact info@zalos.io. Accounts require an invitation from your administrator. Any applicable Zalos subscription or service access requirements also apply. The extension does not include a standalone AI service.

Connect and try it

  1. Install and open a compatible Zalos Desktop build. Sign in to your Zalos account in Desktop.
  2. Install the Zalos extension from the Chrome Web Store and keep Desktop open.
  3. In Desktop Settings → Browser, enable browser extension control (Zalos for Chrome). This access is off by default.
  4. Open the Zalos extension popup. It should show “Connected to Zalos Desktop”.
  5. Open a public webpage. In a Desktop chat, ask your assistant to use Chrome to summarize that page or extract a table.
  6. The popup shows the chats and tabs involved in browser work. Stop the task in Desktop when finished.

If pairing fails

Update and restart Zalos Desktop, then reload the extension in Chrome’s extension settings. The Desktop build must recognize the Store extension ID. Check that browser extension control is enabled in Desktop Settings → Browser. Check that Chrome has permission to use the extension on the requested site. Chrome internal pages, including extension-management pages, are unavailable to browser tasks.

Privacy and control

Browser content and action results pass to Desktop and may be processed by your configured providers and services. Requested actions can also send information to websites. You can stop work in Desktop, restrict site access, or disable/remove the extension.
